Logic-Philosophical Workshop

in Bierzgłowo Teutonic Castle near Toruń
September 5–8, 2005

The whole event was held in the Teutonic Castle located about 15 kilometers from Toruń. The medieval halls and rooms were our conference center for three days. Romantic and gothic atmosphere of the countryside had quite a positive influence on the character of the workshop as well as our guests and their moods.

Invited Speakers

Besides the submitted papers, our special guests were prof. Grzegorz Malinowski (University of Lódz) with a lecture “Inference and many-valuedness” and prof. Uwe Scheffler (Humboldt University, Berlin) with a lecture “Hilbert, Carnap, Brandom and the Semantic Web. How to grasp semantic relations?”.

Tutorial

The tutorial was given by Andrzej Pietruszczak. The topic was “Mereology and its applications to pointless geometry”.
